Lots of great places to eat in Baldwin Village. Today, I’ll be writing about the adequately delightful Etsu.

My friend and I were lazy so we just ended up getting the Etsu Combo for 2. It comes with soup and salad, 15 pieces of sashimi, 12 pieces of nigiri, and 8 pieces of dynamite roll.

Salmon belly, but my friend ate it, so I'm jelly.

Most of it was pretty fresh. They had 2 varieties of salmon, escolar, maguro tuna, black cod from Greece, shrimp, scallop, eel, BC Tuna, and a not crispy-enough dynamite roll.

More of the same with the addition of some red snapper. There were lots of little bells and whistles that weren’t really necessary but they wanted to fill the plate up I guess. It was a really filling meal and the fish was fresh enough, but after trying so many great places this seemed really average to me.

My dining partner remarked that the shrimp sushi was quite subpar as well.

TL;DR: Average food, average service, average life.  The decor is nice but I think ND is better and also right next to Etsu. I’ll try to get a review up for that ASAP.
